You ended the song prematurely. The Power Station background. The Power Station was initiated by Duran Duran's co-founder & bassist John Taylor when he & former Chic drummer Tony Thompson went nightclubbing. Thompson was touring with David Bowie (Serious Moonlight Tour 1983) when he met Taylor in London in between shows. Taylor told Thompson on their night out that he wanted to do a cover of T.Rex's "Get It On" & asked if Thompson wanted to be involved. Thompson said yes. The idea was to do one song before Taylor got Duran Duran's guitarist Andy Taylor involved & Duran Duran's drummer, Roger Taylor, to play percussion. (For those unaware, none of the Taylor's in Duran Duran are related.) Thompson got his former Chic band mate Bernard Edwards to produce the song. Taylor's & Thompson's idea to do one song evolved into doing an entire album. Taylor now wanted to get multiple singers to sing on various tracks. Robert Palmer was sent a demo of "Some Like It Hot." He liked the song & came up with its lyrics. The idea to have various singers on the album to sing each song was scrapped. Robert Palmer was invited to do all of the vocals. Palmer sang on seven tracks & Andy Taylor did vocals on one song. The Power Station are: John Taylor (bass), Tony Thompson (drums), Andy Taylor (guitar), Robert Palmer (vocals) & as a guest on the album, Roger Taylor (percussion) & also as the album's producer, Bernard Edwards.

First off... Great reaction !! As a side note. Janis Joplin and Big Brother and the Holding Company (relative "Unknowns" from San Francisco) played the first day of Monterey. The cinematographer, D.A. Pennebacker, was late to arrive and the first day was not recorded on film, so the promoters (this year the promoters were John and Michelle Phillips. "half" of the very popular group, "The Mama's and the Papa's". (That's why "Mama" Cass Elliot was featured in the recording) invited Janis back on the last day to perform "Ball & Chain" again, to be filmed. They also informed a bunch of "record labels", that this sensational women was going to perform again on the last day, so about 8 record companies offered her a contract, and she signed with Clive Davis from Colombia Records. The rest, as they say... "Is history" !!

The clip you see with the FABULOUS, extremely talented Vanetta Fields was John, Vanetta, and Lindsey Field singing "Amazing Grace". A very moving rendition of a wonderful song. That should be your next John Farnham song. A tip - if anyone requests a John Farnham song, look for a live performance. John is spectacular live. Truly Australian Rock Royalty, and one of the best male vocalists of all time.

Nobody expected the Bad Brains! They grabbed the world by the nuts and squeezed!

One of those bands that every one of their songs was great. They got a ton of hits but everything else in between is fantastic too, and lots of fan favorites. That is definitely an organ! That's one thing I love about their sound is that the organ shows up now and then. If you want one that will really rip your heart out and also really features the organ a lot, check out their hit "Hideaway (Wish I Could)". They have a bunch of longer songs as well, plenty to choose from. Check out one of their first hits and a huge fan favorite, from their first album, "Suzie Q". It's a hypnotic jam and some great singing and lots of atmosphere and a chill groove, and it's several minutes long.

I heard this song without the song title and was trying my best to figure out who he was referring. it was only then when it was revealed did I know. So I put it to you folks ,as a challenge, let them listen to this song without the name of the song to see if they get it.

I have been a ROCK NUT my whole life and a Metallica fan as well. I LOVED this song the very 1st time I heard it when it 1st came out yrs ago and I had NO idea what the song meant back then as a kid. Now that im older and KNOW to listen to the lyrics, I realize just how great this song is. I put it in my TOP 10 FAVORITE Metallica songs! 😀👍🏾

I really appreciate SRV's Talent. But Johnny Winter was around long before him. Besides performing at Woodstock he received three Grammy Awards a Grammy + 3 other major Awards and a star on the Hollywood Walk. He was a student of Muddy Waters among others. But was very influential in his own right. Edgar Winter had a lot to live up to. What you heard was pure Texas Blues. And it isn't anyone's exclusively. 🚜🤠🐂
